Took a trip down to San Diego this past weekend to link up with the Home Grown Blends fam-a-lam to build and partake in the buffoonery.

:: Lumatek Ad Submitted for Award ::

Posted by flavorinnovator in art, client | No Comments » »

A great client of mine, Lumatek, submitted this ad for the Maximum Yield Annual Media Awards. Lumatek is the worldwide market leader and supplier of Digital Electronic Ballasts to the hydroponics and horticultural industries. If you grow you know. Teaming up with them has been amazing. They have a great vision and are open to utilizing the skill set and forward thinking here at FlavorInnovator.

For this particular ad we were in a bit of a slump. The only asset was the ballast image with no set concept or tag line. We were toying around with the idea of recreating a plant life cycle, but sourcing images for that proved difficult. As I was laying down some ground elements the idea to construct a lush and succulent world came to mind. By doing so we could metaphorically and visually show the audience that Lumatek helps plants flourish. Hope we win that award!

:: (INSPIRATION) The Work of Erik Otto ::

Posted by flavorinnovator in art, inspiration | No Comments » »

We meet many who artists who are dedicated to their craft and churn out work left and right. Some seem to be more concerned with quantity instead of quality for fear of being left behind and/or monetary needs. Occasionally, you’ll meet an artist cut from a different cloth. Someone that has an intense, almost spiritual, connection to their work. An artist more concerned with the message ingrained in the fabric of their piece and will sacrifice well-being to ensure the work isn’t compromised. Ladies and gentlemen meet Erik Otto.

:: Live Differently ::

Quick late night doodles with a new Photoshop brush and my affinity for patterns. Basically, this sketch resembles a broken infinity symbol. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how blessed we are to be alive. We are not promised tomorrow yet we live it like we are. If you knew you were going to expire this year then how would you live your life differently?

:: F.A.M.E Teaser Flyer ::

Posted by flavorinnovator in art | No Comments » »

I love designing flyers but crafting them is few and far between these days. However, when the opportunity arises to design a flyer for a function that I will attend or respect it makes the creative process buttery. Recently crafted one for my friend Bobbi Vie’s event entitled F.A.M.E. which is a bi-annual event that brings together the aesthetic elements of streetwear culture.
