:: Sliding Through the Mud in San Jose ::

I, along with my wife and friends, will be participating in the Muddy Buddy races this Sunday! This will be my first time doing an event like this so I’m not sure what to expect. I hear it’s fun and not too difficult. What intrigues me most besides the mud pit and beer is actually training for an event and seeing how that will pay off. I’ve been on the P90x and Insanity regiment for a couple of years so I trust that will have some benefits. However, running for long distances is new to me. So about a month ago I started a strict running schedule to build up endurance. My first attempt to run a 1/2 mile was pathetic. A lot of breaks and heavy breathing. Now I can run 1.25 miles straight through. That’s major given how winded I was when I first started this regiment. Thanks to Gav of HGB, Tim, and Ron for the pro tips. Really looking forward to doing this with my folks. Keep you posted on the results.
